Antique Eastern European Bread Bowls
These large, rustic, hand-carved antique bowls are finds from Eastern Europe, mostly in Hungary, where they have been used for centuries as vessels to make bread. Our c. 1890s - 1920 pieces of history show beautiful signs of their age and have endless uses for your home. Store your magazines in them, fill them with greenery or fruit and use them for center pieces on large tables, store rolled up towels in them by the pool or by the shower - they display beautifully anywhere and are stunning as is. Because these are handmade and antique, each will vary in size, shape, patina and condition. We have both rectangular and round and in varying sizes. All are stunning. Time and the elements have rendered this blessing cross even more beautiful than it was originally. The once reflective silver plating has worn away over most of the beautifully detailed crucifix and what is left has aged to a soft, gorgeous tone. The mix of the underlying metal and the remnants of the worn silver is gorgeous to me. Beautiful alone, lovely with the crystal crosses.

Perfectly mirroring the 19th century French antique - these ancient looking replicas have been painstakingly carved, painted, leafed, aged and then fired for a perfect antique patina to look far from new. In sizes ranging from 18" to an impressive 8 feet tall, the artisan wings can be fitted with hardware (not included)to be hung on the wall, over doorways, propped against the wall, either side of your mantle, in a corner - the possibilities are endless, and the result - heavenly.
